Carlow-Kilkenny FC 0
Two first-half goals saw Wexford FC U15s crowned the 2019 National Shield Champions following a superb 2-0 win over Carlow Kilkenny FC at Ferrycarrig Park last night.
Mikey Raggett produced a brilliant finish to put the home-side into the lead after 14mins; a probing Wexford free was flicked on by Sean Fitzpatrick, the ball pulled by Darby Purcell, and finished brilliantly much to the delight of Wexford fans.
Wexford captain, Conor Carew, doubled the homeside’s lead in the 24th minute as his deflected shot hits the back of the net. The visitors had several chances in the first half but Luke Murphy was equal to all the efforts.
Early in the second half Dean Owns rattled the Wexford crossbar from a free-kick. The visitors piled on the pressure but the home-side battled bravely to score a marvelous victory.
