Bunclody unveils its public attractions at Market Square

Pride of place took charge in Bunclody for the official launch of the Public Realm works at Market Square which featured in the Venice Architectural Biennale in 2018, the Urban Adventure Hub, the Nine Stones Cycle Trail, the Clody Valley Walking Trails and the opportunity finally to celebrate winning the All-Ireland Pride of Place 2018 awards.
Cllr Kathleen Codd Nolan, Vice-Chair of Enniscorthy Municipal District Council, performed the official opening in the absence of Minister Paul Kehoe TD who was detained on official duties.
Cllr Kathleen Codd-Nolan speaking at the Bunclody Urban Aventure Hub said that a key priority for Wexford County Council was to work in partnership with the many agencies and the local community to promote Bunclody for economic, social, tourism, and health and well-being opportunities.
She also said well done on a fantastic outdoor amenity for all to enjoy, the initiative is truly inspiring and will complement the work of the Town and Village renewal scheme and healthy Ireland.
Cllr Barbara-Anne Murphy, Chair, Bunclody Towns’ welcomed everyone and thanked all those who were involved – Bunclody Town Team, Wexford County Council, Co. Wexford Sports Active, The Sports Council, WWETB and Shielbeggan Outdoor Education Centre, Enniscorthy Municipal District, REDz, Town and Village Renewal, Joe Fallon Architecture, Clody Loafers, Frank Burke Cycling Officer, Wexford Co. Council , Bunclody Tourist Office and all the organisations in Bunclody who contribute to the community enterprise and community spirit in the town.
A reception was held in Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club to celebrate thank all those involved in the various projects. The afternoon was also attended by Cllr Keith Doyle Chairman Wexford County Council, Kevin Lewis CE WWETB, Padraig O’Gorman Acting Director Wexford County. Council, Liz Hore, Manager at Enniscorthy Municipal District Council, Ger Mackey, Community Development at Wexford County Concil, members of the community team, representatives from the Sports Council and other invited guests.
