Sport Pony Challenge- Tomhaggard Girl Qualifies

The opening qualifier in the Irish Pony Society’s, “Sport Pony Challenge”, took place in Killossery, Swords, on Tuesday.

Defending Champion, Taylor Peare, from Tomhaggard, certainly made the journey pay dividends as she took third place in the class with her 7yo pony Baby Buttons and qualified for the final, last year she won the 133 Pony with her other pony, Dawn Windsor.

12yo Taylor, is a daughter of Pat & Orla Peare, from the Wexford Equestrian Centre, Tomhaggard, and grand daughter of well known hotelier, Billy Roche.

Last year she competed with her “Baby Buttons” in Pony Club one day events, made her debut in the RDS and placed 2nd and 3rd with both her ponies in the in the “Starter Stakes” and Open 133 cm Working Hunter.

A new initiative introduced this year by the Working Hunter Committee are on-line entries and live results on the www.irishponysociety.ie website and this has been welcomed by both owners and riders.

The next qualifier takes place at the Wexford Equestrian on Saturday the 12th of May.
