A ewe on Clifford Kinch’s farm in Tinahely gave birth to six lambs on Friday, the chances of this happening is estimated at one in a million. The Kinch family has a flock of 300 ewes with 80 replacements.
The dam is a Belclare cross Suffolk who comes from a high producing family, her dam produced 50 lambs over her career.
This rare event was replicated in Ballindaggin, a ewe on the Rafter farm also produced six lambs, and they are featured on the front page of the Enniscorthy Guardian this week.
