Andrew Bolger is Gorey’s new Council member

Twenty-two years old Andrew Bolger was tonight selected at a Fianna Fail convention in Gorey to replace Malcolm Byrne T.D. as a Gorey-Kilmuckridge district member of Wexford County Council.

Malcolm Byrne was first to congratulate Mr Bolger, a law graduate, who defeated Jack Redmond and Michael Dwyer in a contest to fill the vacancy on Wexford County Council caused by Malcolm Byrne’s success in the November By-Election.

Mr Bolger will become the youngest member of Wexford County Council when he is co-opted by the members at a special meeting of the Council next Monday.

Mr Bolger will be welcomed at Tuesday’s monthly meeting of Gorey-Kilmuckridge Municipal District Council where the first item on the agenda will be the replacement of Malcolm Byrne TD, as Cathaoirleach.
