Eight coastal community projects in county Wexford will benefit from €102,500 in grants that are co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union under Ireland’s European Maritime & Fisheries Fund Operational Programme for the seafood sector.
Among the projects that received funding are: Wexford Walking Trail, Hook Head Adventures Activities, Duncannon Village Renewal, Kilmore Quay Community Development, Wexford Maritime Festival, Killurin Rowing Club, and Taste Wexford + Rocking Food Festival.

Welcoming the funding, Minister Michael D’Arcy said: “The FLAGs initiative is proving a fantastic success and the grants awarded to our local coastal projects to date in 2018 will be a hugely important boost to our coastal communities here in County Wexford.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed said: “I am delighted to announce that an additional 106 grants worth €1.5 million have been awarded by our seven coastal FLAG groups, bringing total FLAG grant offers in 2018 to €3.1 million.
