Barnadown hosted the second leg of the Irish Sport Horse Studbook Showjumping Series and a leg of Showjumping Ireland’s National Grand Prix on Sunday.
Wexford based riders were very much to the fore over the weekend.
Five combinations shared the 5yo final from an original start list of 74.

Sophie Richards rode Luxie B, owned and bred by Maurice Cousins, to a share of the first place prizemoney. The 5yo mare is by Dignified Van’T Zorgvliet (BEWB) out of Barnadown Lux Out (ISH) by Lux Z (HANN).
It was certainly a fantastic day for the Barnadown team; the same connections took joint first in the 6yo final with Be The One (ISH), a mare by Dignified Van’T Zorgvliet (BEWB) out of Diro (ISH) by Ramiro B (BWP), again bred and owned by Maurice and ridden by Sophie.
Both these mares are by the Belgian warmblood stallion, Dignified Van’T Zorgvliet; the Clinton stallion stands with Nick Cousins at Tullabeg Stud, near Camolin.

Jason Higgins took joint first in the 5yo section with Seeking Fortune (ISH), a gelding by Heritage Fortunus (HANN) out of Jade Des Cotes (SEF) by Veneur Du Marais (SF) bred by George McCullough and owned by Trade Horse Ltd.
The National Grand Prix, sponsored by Ballywalter Farms Stallions, was won by Deep Pockets, ridden by Darragh Ryan, and 16yo, Good Counsel student, Jack Ryan, took the runner-up spot on Cavalier Teaca.
Barnadown hosts one of only four RDS Qualifiers in the country on 13th of June, some of the best young horses in the country will descend on the north Wexford venue bidding to win qualification for Ireland’s only 5 star show.
